The University of Kentucky Finance Society is an organization within the Gatton College of Business. The Finance Society is an active business community that seeks to introduce, broaden, and enhance networking opportunities between finance professionals and qualified undergraduates. By engaging with peers, employers, and alumni, members can strengthen both hard and soft skills outside of the classroom through a variety of different meetings and activities held by the Finance Society. Members are offered unique finance tools and skills necessary to become a competent professional in today’s rapidly changing financial environment. 2021 Executive Board
Grant Lee is a sophomore at the University of Kentucky. He is the Corporate Relations Chair for Alpha Kappa Psi and an Athletic Photographer for the University. Grant wants to move to New York City for the summer as well as after graduation. Grant is interested in most avenues of finance and is excited to learn more about them through his time in the Finance Society and in Gatton.
This is Hunter Miller, and he is currently serving as the Treasurer of the Finance society. He is a freshman majoring in Pre-Finance with plans to work in corporate finance and aspirations to one day become a CFO. He is also involved in student government and serves as a member of the Leadership Development Program. Outside of school, his interests include running and cars.
Jane Durbin is a freshman at the University of Kentucky majoring in Finance. Around campus, Jane is involved in a few different things including Alpha Delta Pi sorority and the Wall Street Scholars program. Jane is very interested in snow-skiing, health and fitness, and Cyclebar. After college, Jane plans on working in either private wealth management or investment banking. Jane looks forward to exploring different career paths throughout her time at the University of Kentucky.
Sabin is a freshman pursuing a double major in Finance and Accounting with a minor in Business Analytics. He is originally from Nepal, but he grew up in Chicago, IL. Sabin is a huge soccer fan, especially of FC Barcelona. He loves to play the guitar, cook, and watch Bollywood movies. He is a Wall Street Scholar and wants to work as an Investment Banker after completing his undergraduate studies.
VP of Marketing
Kennedy Klaber is a freshman at the University of Kentucky and is from Union, Kentucky. She is majoring in Accounting and Finance. Outside of the Finance Society, Kennedy is a part of the Wall Street Scholars program. She plans on pursuing a career in investment banking after college. She enjoys traveling, exercising, and soccer.
VP of External Relations
Justin Meadows is a freshman in Gatton studying Finance with an International Business minor. He grew up in Springfield, IL and loves hiking, Premier League soccer, and reading. Outside of the Finance Society, he is a member of the Business Enterprise LLP and is a Wall Street Scholar. Justin wants to work in Investment Banking after getting his degree.
VP of Internal Relations
Ally is a freshman studying Finance and International Business. She is a part of the Global Scholars Pathway Program, a member of Wall Street Scholars, and a member of Kappa Delta sorority. Some of her interests are working out, cooking, and investing. After college, she hopes to work in investment banking.
VP of Alumni Relations
Tanner Thompson is a junior working towards degrees in Accounting, Finance, and Management with a minor in International Business. Outside of the Finance Society, he is a peer mentor for the Business Enterprise LLP, a member of the UK Cheer team, and works as a part-time teller for the Monticello Banking Company. Tanner enjoys traveling and recently participated in a study abroad program at Massey University in Auckland, New Zealand. He plans to obtain his CPA license and see what opportunities present themselves.
Before becoming a professor, Peter worked in Foreign Exchange for various Money Center Banks. In August of 2020, Peter started at Gatton College of Business as a Lecturer. Peter is currently teaching Corporate Finance, Investments as well as overseeing the UKY Stock Pitch Competition.
