The University of Kentucky Finance Society is an organization within the Gatton College of Business. The Finance Society is an active business community that seeks to introduce, broaden, and enhance networking opportunities between finance professionals and qualified undergraduates. By engaging with peers, employers, and alumni, members can strengthen both hard and soft skills outside of the classroom through a variety of different meetings and activities held by the Finance Society. Members are offered unique finance tools and skills necessary to become a competent professional in today’s rapidly changing financial environment. 2022 Executive Board
Sabin is a sophomore pursuing a double major in Finance and Accounting with a minor in Business Analytics. He is originally from Nepal, but he grew up in Chicago, IL. Sabin is a huge soccer fan, especially of FC Barcelona. He loves to play the guitar, cook, and watch Bollywood movies. He is a Wall Street Scholar and wants to work as an Investment Banker after completing his undergraduate studies.
Kennedy Klaber is a sophomore at the University of Kentucky and is from Union, Kentucky. She is majoring in Accounting and Finance. Outside of the Finance Society, Kennedy is a part of the Wall Street Scholars program. She plans on pursuing a career in investment banking after college. She enjoys traveling, exercising, and soccer.
Hunter Miller is a sophomore double majoring in Finance and Accounting. Outside of the Finance Society, Hunter is a member of the Wall Street Scholars program. He plans to work in either corporate finance or investment banking after graduation with intentions to one day become a CFO. His interests include running, cars, and traveling.
VP of Outreach
Justin Meadows is a sophomore in Gatton studying Finance with an International Business minor. He grew up in Springfield, IL and loves hiking, Premier League soccer, and reading. Outside of the Finance Society, Justin is a Wall Street Scholar. Justin currently works as a co-op with Edward Jones Headquarters and is interning with VonLehman. He is interested in exploring different career paths in finance while completing his undergraduate studies.
VP of Membership
Ally is a sophomore studying Finance and International Business. She is a part of the Global Scholars Pathway Program, a member of Wall Street Scholars, and a member of Kappa Delta sorority. Some of her interests are working out, cooking, and investing. After college, she hopes to work in investment banking.
VP of Alumni Relations
Tanner Thompson is a senior working towards degrees in Accounting, Finance, and Management with a minor in International Business. Outside of the Finance Society, he is a Peer Advisor for the Graham Office, an Alumni Ambassador for the Alumni Association, a member of the UK Cheer team, and works as a part-time teller for the Monticello Banking Company. Tanner enjoys traveling and participated in a study abroad program at Massey University in Auckland, New Zealand. He plans to obtain his CPA license and see what opportunities present themselves.
VP of Programming
Justin is a junior at the University of Kentucky majoring in Finance and Economics with a minor in Business Analytics. He was raised in Wisconsin and is an avid sports fan. Justin aims to pursue an MBA and a career in sports finance following graduation in 2023.
VP of Marketing
Alex is a freshman double majoring in Finance and Marketing with a minor in International Business. She is excited to study abroad and experience the great culture in France. Alex is a part of the Pi Beta Phi sorority on campus. She grew up in Louisville, KY and enjoys working out, traveling, and watching new movies. After college, she hopes to be a budget analyst.
Assistant VP of Membership
Abby is a freshman studying Accounting, Management, and International Business as a student in the Global Scholars Pathway. She hopes to work in Private Wealth Management after earning her degree and is excited to study abroad. Off campus, Abby enjoys volunteering with Girl on the Run and cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals.
Keegan is a freshman and is from just north of Chicago, Illinois. He is double majoring in Finance and Management in the Global Scholars Pathway. Outside of the Finance Society, he is in the Wall Street Scholars Program and the business fraternity: Alpha Kappa Psi. Keegan enjoys playing soccer, piano, and traveling. After college, he hopes to go into investment baking.
Before becoming a professor, Peter worked in Foreign Exchange for various Money Center Banks. In August of 2020, Peter started at Gatton College of Business as a Lecturer. Peter is currently teaching Corporate Finance, Investments as well as overseeing the UKY Stock Pitch Competition.
